Espresso Coffee Beans
Coffee beans from the various coffee tree growing countries vary greatly. When fresh beans are used in coffee machines and cafés throughout the process they go through is espresso.
Espresso is the method of using those beans to make your coffee. The first espresso coffee machines came about at the beginning of the 20th Century. The flavouring of a fine cup of espresso coffee is highly concentrated and so is the base to many other forms of coffee served and prepared from our machines. Espresso machines, while originally steam driven, can be powered in several ways.
Steam driven espresso machines force the water through the coffee via steam pressure. Air pressure driven machines create high pressure conditions on the boiling water and then sends the water through the coffee beans to create the espresso. Both forms are using a catalyst to aid the absorption and percolation of the beans juices and essences into the water proper. Finally, there are 2 major types of pressure driven machines: Pump and Piston driven. Piston driven machines feature a lever to be pumped by the barista to pressurise the hot water. The origin of the term "pulling a shot" for a shot of espresso is because of the need by baristas to pull the lever. Pump driven machines automate this process through an electrical machine that handles all the pressurisation of the water and passing of water through the beans.
